On this blog...

On this blog we aren't going to show you our dogs, cars, holidays, our baked cakes, our new hair or our kids.

Because if we did, you'd want our hair and frankly our kids are so darn cute that yours would be put to shame.

So this is a place where we will take nothing seriously. Anything can happen in our day. BUT we are not boring. We are daydreamers, silly and try to make fun of everything in our day.

Come along for the ride!

Big on Dreams

Is there anybody out there like me?

Every week, or sometimes every second day, I have a new plan that I am definitely going to do. My husbands' eyes roll when I mention my big dreams, but I must admit that every time I really do convince myself that it can be done.

For instance, last week I was moving to the beach. I had our house momentarily on the market, had picked out our new place, and had even organised work for husband at our new destination. Needless to say when my husband came home that day and I told him about all of my 'hardwork' in organising our sea change the sh** hit the fan. Apparently he has no intention of ever moving to the beach - obviously a lack of communication in my household.

Anyway I have decided that my new motto in life should be 'Big on Dreams and Little on Risk'. I know, I know. This is not a very inspiring motto to have. But this is who I have come to see myself as. If you use a little reverse psychology on me it often turns out that I can't actually go through with my big dreams because I am such a 'Safety Sam'. Let me step out of the box!!!!!

The Family Unit

Since having kids my husband suddenly thinks that we need to do everything together as a whole 'family unit'. If one of us doesn't want to do something or go somewhere, then none of us can do it. Apparently he thinks these are the rules when you have kids...

So the other night we were asked to a friends house for a BBQ, but by the end of the day I just could not be bothered. All I wanted to do was put the kids to bed and sit up to my quiet 'few' vodkas in front of the computer (mmm roolly social!). There was no way I was putting any amount of deodorant or lippy on, and needless to say my hair was an oil-slick and there was no disguising it (wearing a baseball cap, although considered, was not an option). When I told my husband I couldn't be bothered going out he started sulking around the house like a pubescent teenager! I asked him what his problem was and he said that it "just wasn't fair that we couldn't go out!". Excuse me, but why can't he go by himself? It dawned on me then that he thinks we all need to move around the whole time as one big family unit...All for one and blah blah blah...Am I being unreasonable here believing that we actually separate bodies??

About Betty and Roxy

We are 2 girls in our 30s, happily married (well most of the time!) and we have heaps of kids between us. Life wasn't meant to be serious.

We have random lives and silly things happen around here. These are our stories and our opinions. Like us? Then stick around, have a laugh and you'll probably want to be us. Hate us? Then go back to your own boring blog. It's simple around here.

People take their blogs far too seriously... It's only blogging. Let's have some fun with less serious matters.
